Here was an old monastery of the boyar court, attested in 1745, belonging to the Câmpineni boyars in the first part of the century. the 18th and remained through the alliances of the Lupoians, then the Bujorens; it had the patronages of Saints George and Demetrius and of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Demolished during the earthquake of 1829, the church was rebuilt by abbot Calinic of Cernica, with funds from the wealth left by the last founders (Grigore and Maria Bujoreanu), remaining only with the patron saint of the Dormition, to which St. Nicholas was added. Having become a parish church even before 1810, the place was under the care of Mrs. Cernica in the period 1830-1864, after which it remained in the care of the Ministry of Religion. The tower of the nave was rebuilt after the earthquake of 1838. The place was in a quadrangular enclosure with an inn, cells, bell tower and shops, including a school built by Bujoreni (all demolished gradually between 1865-1908). In 1887 the church burned, and was then repaired and repainted in oil in 1905. The bell tower on the pronaos was added in 1908, with the material from the dismantling of the bell tower (the last element of the old enclosure).
