Section of the ‘’Ion Ionescu- Quintus’’ Departamental Museum of Art Prahova County, the ‘’Nicolae Grigorescu’’ Memorial Museum from Câmpina is the place where the painter Nicolae Grigorescu has lived the last years of his life.
During World War I, the house accommodated the German General Headquarters, time during which it was burnt. Some of the objects have been saved, making it possible for the artist’s son, Gheorghe Grigorescu, to reconstruct the establishment (the work study, the dining room, the library) during 1954 and 1955, using as guidelines saved pictures from the time Nicolae Grigorescu was alive.
Currently, the edifice houses furniture pieces, creations and authentic objects, from pictures to dedications from contemporaries and remarkable paintings signed by the great painter.
