An architectural complex in continuous transformation, composed of an historic monument-churchbelonging to the former Slobozia hermitage (1714), home of the former abbacy from 1840 (presently parsonage), an annex from 1842 (currently kindergarten), and the new church ‘’Pogorârea Sf. Duh’’ (literally: ‘’The Descent of the Holly Spirit’’) built in a Brâncoveanu style between the years 1995 and 2000.

The ‘’Sfântul Nicolae’’ (literally: ‘’Saint Nicholas’’) parish from Câmpina is located in the Slobozia district, located at the South entrance in the city of Câmpina , on the nose of the hill which dominates the confluence of the Doftana river with the Prahova river.

The special character of the ensemble from Câmpina, the ‘’Sfântul Nicolae’’ (literally: ‘’Saint Nicholas’’) parish, consists in the proposal of not only an architectural project, but rather of a concept. Spiritual landmark for the community, the place of worship becomes in fact a coordinator of the community, of its actions, a crucial point of its evolution.

Recently, in the large cellars of the parish house close to the new church, a parish museum point was opened, where you can visit an exhibition focused on evoking the figure of the main ancient founder of the place, the Damascene abbot of the Sinaia monastery, and especially on objects from the Period Bronze discovered in a unique archaeological site in the country, located right in the courtyard of the parish house, which is a class A historical monument, being the oldest building in the city.
